What the Index is
The Index is an independent research project that tests anonymous Instagram viewers and publishes evidence-based scores. It is provided for general information to help you assess risk before visiting a third-party service.
Acceptable use
- Read, share, and link to the rankings, reviews, reports, and guides freely.
- Don't scrape, republish wholesale, or misrepresent our scores as a service's own claim.
- Don't use the site to harass operators or individuals, or to break the law.
- Community contributions must follow the posted community rules.
Accuracy & sample data
- Scores reflect behavior observed during the stated test period; a service can change afterward.
- We correct verified errors through the Corrections Policy.
No warranty
The site is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for losses arising from your use of the site or of any third-party service you reach through it. Your decision to visit or use a viewer is your own.
Intellectual property
The methodology, scoring framework, written reviews, and design are the project's intellectual property. You may quote and link with attribution; you may not pass our assessments off as your own or as a service's self-description. Affiliate relationships, where they exist, are disclosed in the Editorial Policy.
Trademarks
"Instagram" and "Meta" are trademarks of their respective owners. The Viewer Safety Lab is an independent project and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Instagram or Meta. Third-party names are used only to identify the services being described.
