About Scott
Scott Bolen is a threat-intelligence researcher focused on OSINT and threat hunting. His work centers on uncovering hidden online threats and protecting people's digital lives: the same investigative approach he brings to the everyday tools people actually use.
At Viewer Safety Lab, Scott runs the monthly, hands-on tests behind every viewer rating and writes the safety guides. He treats each "anonymous viewer" the way he'd treat any unknown service: assume nothing, record what it really does, and publish the evidence so readers can decide for themselves.

How Scott tests
Every service is run through the documented testing methodology on both mobile and desktop, in a clean browser, with the full request log captured as evidence. See how we assess for the principles behind each rating, and the editorial policy for how independence is kept separate from funding.
